This mountain range is always referred to as the "Sleeping Giant." If you look at the left half of the picture, imagine that the mountain top is the giant's chin. The giant's name is Nounou, and an old Hawaiian legend speaks of him falling asleep and turning to stone.

Wailua Falls - Wai means water and lua means two. Two rivers flow together to form the Wailua River. These falls were featured in the opening scenes of Fantasy Island.
The beautiful green mountains overlooking old Kapaa town. There used to be many pineapple plantations and cannery in Kapaa, but they have long since vanished. The last cannery closed in 2006 in Oahu. All canned pineapple now comes from Thailand or the Phillipines.
